Egeria Solutions in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation hosted a Winter School 2022 – “Youth navigating new realities – from perspective to membership”. The event brought together 30 students from Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine on 3-7 December, in Telavi, Georgia to learn about and discuss European Integration and underlying democratic governance in the three countries. The Winter School took place against the backdrop of Russia’s outrageous war, Ukraine’s struggle for sovereignty and freedom, and the newly emerged opportunities for the three countries of the Eastern Partnership to integrate with the west. The lectures and discussions hosted by prominent experts gave students an insight into the theory and practice, progress and challenges, the present and the future of the three countries with the European Union. The students also explored the effects of the current geopolitical context on German Foreign Policy in a special session with the Head of the South Caucasus Office of KAS, Stephan Malerius. In addition to interactive sessions, the students had an opportunity to engage in numerous practical activities in groups and make friendships that are expected to last far beyond the Winter School.
